The City of Jonesboro, Georgia's FY2026 General Fund budget — $8,740,609, balanced with no fund balance used — from the city's published FY26 Budget Book, plus audited FY2022 figures from its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. Every figure below is cited to those documents.
Source: FY26 Budget Book, City of Jonesboro, Georgia (tables headed “City of Jonesboro, GA – FY2026 Approved Budget”) — and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, City of Jonesboro, Georgia, for the year ended December 31, 2022 — Balance Sheet, Governmental Funds (pp. 15–16); Statement of Revenues, Expenditures, and Changes in Fund Balances (p. 18); statistical tables (pp. 71, 74).
Source: Department totals are the “2026 Approved Budget” column of the FY26 Budget Book (pp. 8–13); the eight departments sum exactly to the book's stated “TOTAL CURRENT EXPENDITURES” of $8,740,609 (p. 13); total revenues are the same $8,740,609 (p. 7) — a balanced budget that, per the transmittal letter (p. 3), uses no fund balance. Shares are computed from the book's own figures.
Source: Debt only, at December 31, 2022. The ACFR's Note 4-F reports total long-term liabilities of $21,983,120, which adds compensated absences ($160,298) and net pension liability ($151,450) to the debt above; those are not debt and are not included. Source: ACFR — Note 4-F (pp. 37–38) and statistical table “Ratios of Outstanding Debt by Type” (p. 71), where the same $21,671,372 is labeled “Total Primary Government.”
The budget figures are from the City of Jonesboro FY26 Budget Book (filed by the city as “Approved 2026 Budget”). Its financial tables are headed “FY2026 Approved Budget”; readers should know the book's transmittal letter (January 15, 2026) describes the same document as the “Proposed Budget” — the labels inside the book conflict, and this page follows the tables' “Approved” label while disclosing the discrepancy. The book prints no all-funds total; only the General Fund and one refuse-collection fund ($229,533) are presented, so no combined total is shown here.
The fund balance, debt, expenditure-actual and population figures are FY2022 audited actuals from the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the year ended December 31, 2022 (the newest ACFR the city posts). Jonesboro's fiscal year is the calendar year. The ACFR classifies expenditures by function rather than by the budget book's departments, so the two documents' breakdowns are not directly interchangeable; the FY2022 General Fund actual total was $6,583,083.
